First Catch
"First Catch" the painting at auction tonight is a combination of inspiration, imagination, joy and a wish. Sam, age nine and his Papa went on a fishing trip to their Secret Pond. That day we experienced many things; from the grasshopper, beetle and worm to the sound of frogs, crickets and birds...and the words "FISH ON"!! As Sam easily limited out producing his first stringer of trout that day, he held them high with such pride and joy... It is so great when a personal wish comes true. Do what you image, and imagine what you can do.
Pure Joy
Presently in consultation with the Canada Counsel for the Arts my personal goal is to make a significant contribution to Canadian culture, the arts and learning.

Pure Joy the painting at auction tonight is a combination of spontaneity, imagination, joy and a wish. The children featured in the painting are Samuel River Mitchell-Joy, age eight and Helena Budgell, age nine friends since toddler hood. I thank them for their willingness to give of themselves to create this work of art. Pure Joy was auctioned at the 17th Annual Golf Classisic at Glenn Abbey and Rattle Snake Point Golf & Country Club, in support of the Childrens Wish Foundation, for $4100.00. 100% of the sale of Pure Joy went to the Children Wish Foundation. © Gregory William Joy 2005

Mothers Arms
This piece was drawn in charcoal, shortly after my son was born, in acknowledgement of the maternal spirit.
